Full Review:

Sometimes you need to go for exactly what you want and not mess around with anything else on the periphery. The V2 Liquid Chorus is a perfect example of this, especially when compared to the V2 H2O effects pedal. The H2O contains chorus and echo effects and the V2 Liquid Chorus is virtually the chorus part of the larger beast although there is an additional knob instead of the switch.

Most people would suggest that getting two effects on your pedal is better than one but if you are not going to sue the echo effects that often, is there much of a point in choosing that option? There is the cost element to suggest that sticking with one option is better and sometimes too many switches and knobs can be distracting. If you are only looking for a reliable and effective chorus pedal, the V2 Liquid Chorus effects pedal is what you need to focus on.

The range of tones available in the V2 Liquid Chorus pedal is highly impressive, regardless of what sort of sound you are aiming for. Those that require a light and low width sound will be satisfied with their sound whereas those seeking a fatter sound, akin to a Leslie speaker, will be delighted with the tone obtained from the V2 Liquid Chorus. A Leslie aping sound from an effects pedal, bringing benefits in cost and portability, is of great benefit to many guitarists.

The main choice for choosing a chorus pedal is obtain lush sounds and there is a soft and almost underwater like tone from this pedal. Whether you wish to capture and recreate the sound of indie-pop, grunge or classic 60s psychedelic tinged moments, this pedal enables you to do it all and with the minimum of fuss. Four knobs is not too many to play with to get your sound the way you like it and those that like to experiment will appreciate the opportunity to do so.

Like the H2O pedal, the V2 Liquid Chorus provides two stereo outputs, allowing the guitarist to plug into two amps if they so require. If you are going for sonic overload this is the set-up that will help you achieve your musical nirvana, making it the sort of effects pedal that every guitarist should be thinking about.

The look and feel of the V2 Liquid Chorus is also fairly impressive, coming in a fresh blue shade and being compact enough to fit neatly on any pedal board. Although the pedal is small, it is robust to handle even the roughest of abuse, making it an ideal pedal for even the hardest working guitarist.
Anyone looking for chinks in the armour should note that there is not a true bypass option on this pedal. If this is a deal-breaker in your choice of pedal, it may be that the V2 Liquid Chorus is not for you but for everyone else, this chorus pedal represents the quality end of the market.

  1. The true bypass thing is over played. You usually need a good buffer somewhere to allow for losses in multiple pedals and long cables. See Pete Thorn’s youTube video on it, along with a number of other knowledgeable. Just don’t put a buffer in front of most vintage type fuzz boxes.
